Dr. Whitehouse has taught a variety of university and community-college philosophy courses (see list below). Three of her online courses at Riverland - Introduction to Philosophy; Logic; and Ethics - have received Quality Matters certification. She has also developed a FlexPace Ethics course for Riverland's FlexPace program.

Dr. Whitehouse has received awards for both academic and non-academic professional achievements. She earned teaching distinctions from on-campus organizations assisting first-generation college students, and her logic course was one of the first in the U.S. to receive Quality Matters certification. She has also earned a first-place nonprofit employee recognition prize as well as Outstanding Broadcaster and a national Collegiate Broadcasting award for her work as a DJ and newscaster. She has contributed to her community by volunteering for arts organizations and medical-ethics associations and working as a tutor for K-12 students. At Riverland, she has written the program review and assessment for Riverland's philosophy courses and contributed the Health Care/Medical Ethics course to the college curriculum. Dr. Whitehouse is actively involved in publishing and presenting scholarly research and is the author of the book "How Ruins Acquire Aesthetic Value" (Palgrave Macmillan). She enjoys working with students as they explore philosophy and all that higher education has to offer.
